In "Appetizer & Snack Bouquets" by Delicious Designs, they show you how to create your own gifts and centerpieces.
The book really is unique. If you have an expansive taste of food, you'd like any of the bouquets. However, I only found two that I liked. I am very picky. The two that I did find though were worth the money I paid for the book. I would not have thought of on my own.
On page 16, they have a bouquet called Escape To Capri. All one needs is a wide glass vase, skewers, chunks of green bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, chunks of mozzarella cheese and breadsticks.
Place cherry tomatoes inside the vase and fill. Arrange peppers, tomatoes and cheese through skewers and arrange like a flower vase arrangement then place breadsticks in and do the same. Voila! Very, very cute and healthy!
Next, on page 27, is a bouquet called Coffee Break. Wonderful to give to the person who has everything, has a sweet tooth or is just plain special!
All it takes is a trip to your baked goods section of your local store to buy "donut holes" (all the same or a variety), skewers, a coffee cup, small piece of styrofoam, small piece of aluminum foil and scissors. A bow is optional.
With your scissors, figure about how much of styrofoam will fit the coffee cup and trim. Wrap the aluminum foil around styrofoam and place within. Trim the skewers (shorter for around the edges and not as much for in the middle of coffee cup. Place donut holes on top of skewers, yet again, like flowers.
For a special touch, tie a bow around the coffee cup. Voila! Very, very cute and sweet!
As I stated earlier, this book was worth what I had paid for it. Actually, I got a bargain. It cost a penny on Amazon.com with only $3.99 shipping. Voila! Very, very economical!
