In Mason Jar Salads And More, by Julia Mirabella, it is said that mason jar salads are the cure for unhealthy lunches, taking a little time out of your Sunday to create then just grab and go during the week.

The book doesn't stop at salads, starting with breakfast...especially smoothies and oatmeal.

Next, the salad section. So many selections...my favorites being fruit salad with grapes, raspberries and strawberries and porcini mushroom risotto with (of course) mushrooms, rice, chicken broth and cheese

Not all of the salad recipes seemed very enticing

Finally, the snack and dips section. The weird part? Almost the entire section is about vinaigrette! Where are all of the snacks? The dips?

If you like to treat your tastebuds to different things, you'll like this book. I am a picky eater and only found two salad jar recipes that I like. Fortunately, I did not buy this book at a bookstore but from a library.
