This review is about Fabulous Frugal Feasts Vol.1 featuring author Christiane Jory, author of The 99 Cents Only Stores Cookbook. From the beginning, she states that you don't have to cook, you get to cook. Not sure what she meant.

She talks about Tuscan summer, holiday buffets and even more goodies
As a start, she talked and demonstrated how to make penne with sausage, onions, corn and scallions for garnish, with the total meal amounting to about $4.00.
She makes a salad to go along, with her own homemade salad dressing consisting of 2 parts oil, 2 parts lemon juice, 2 teaspoons of garlic and a pinch of salt.
A dessert recipe was included but not very enticing.
For the following segment, she made pumpkin bread pudding. She used ramekins. Not all people have ramekins so I didn't find this recipe useful.
For a Thanksgiving feast, she simply used instant stouffing and cans of turkey (just like tuna in a can). Totally frugal.
For cranberry relish, she used cranberry sauce, diced jalapeno and lemon zest then mixed.
Finally, what I thought was the neatest part of the DVD, was her concoction of spa water. She serves with a pitcher of water and ice cubes, cucumber slices and orange slices. That is it! Healthy, refreshing and cheap!
All in all, this DVD was useful. This summer I will have to look for ramekins at yard sales and start making "spa water" as if I were at a "spa"!
