In this issue of July 18, 2016, there were some interesting tidbits throughout.


On page 33, media mogul Oprah Winfrey talks about her cortisol-balancing strategies. I found this article interesting as I suffer from the same problem. She said that what she has learned is that her issue is not about eating less or working out harder. It is about her life being out of balance. Too much work and not enough play and not calming down.

Ms. Winfrey talks about keeping comfort food on the menu, especially bread and pasta. If you do not, she states, you will still crave and that does not make sense to her. Have a soothing snack. Nurture the spirit...which in the hustle and bustle of life are sure to be your recharge, such as walking, cuddling, etc.

Then, on page 53, there is a recipe for blueberry cheesecake crumble bars. Easy to do with cookie dough, coconut oil, cream cheese, egg, sugar, vanilla extract, blueberries and blueberry preserve. Very easy to make and sounds so delicious! A recipe for me to create soon...maybe even make variations !

Then, on page 74, there is a recipe that I did make today with photos! Chicken tacos! In a crockpot, place boneless skinless chicken breasts and two jars of salsa. Cook on HIGH 4 hours. Shred and mix.


Spoon onto a flour tortilla!


Voila! So healthy and so delicious!

A little fitness and a little treat. Worth the cost of the magazine.
