This cookbook is for those crockpot lovers out there! Including, not only recipes, but about what type of crockpot to buy, how to handle, etc.
Instead of describing every single recipe, I like to pick out the best 3 to 4 recipes. Out of the 4 I chose from this cookbook, 3 were classified as 'kid favorites". So, you know they must be good!
On page 29, there is a recipe for pizza potatoes! Just looking at the recipe makes my mouth water. Potatoes, onion, olive oil, mozzarella, pepperoni, salt and pizza sauce! Just throw in the crockpot early and cook on LOW for 6 to 10 hours.
On page 82, the next kid favorite is Harry's vegetable soup. Only 4 ingredients! Cans of mixed vegetables, vegetable juice, beef broth and Mrs. Dash! Throw everything in the crockpot and cook on HIGH 2 hours. Good for busy school nights.
My 3rd kid favorite is creamy corn and macaroni. Combine whole-kernel, cream-style, macaroni, mild cheese, butter, onion powder, salt, milk and black pepper in the crockpot and cook on HIGH 2 1/2 hours. This could be a winner for the super picky kid.
Finally, I have to mention a good one for us adults... quick broccoli fix. Broccoli, cream of mushroom soup, mayonnaise, yogurt, mushrooms, cheddar cheese and saltine crackers. Cook on LOW 5 to 6 hours.
This cookbook will certainly be used by myself quite often as I am picky like a picky kid. Who says you have to grow up?
