In the Cooking With Paula Deen November/December 2016 issue, although an outdated issue, there are a couple of unique gems to discuss...

On page 15, there is a crockpot recipe called Luscious Lasagna Made Easy. The recipe calls for:

ground beef
fire roasted tomatoes
Italian seasoning
crushed red pepper
ricotta (personally, I would use cottage cheese)
Monterey Jack
eggs and finally,
lasagna noodles

A tip for this recipe is to use a liner as cooked-on cheese and sauce is so hard to clean.

The recipe makes 8 servings. Good for a large family dinner, potluck, holiday or even as a gift!

Following, on page 81, there is an article/recipe called Sugar To Share. My favorite is Chai Spiced Sugar. This is so cute to place in little jelly jars for bridal shower favors, hostess gifts, thank you gestures and holiday gift-giving.

It simply calls for:

ground cardamom
apple pie spice
ground cloves and finally,
ground ginger

Recipients may stir into tea, coffee, hot chocolate and even oatmeal!

I think these 2 articles/recipes were well-worth the reading. I give it a thumbs-up!
