In the Woman's World November 23, 2015 issue, there is one article that really sang true, by Rachel Cosma, on page 23, about teacher Susan Holloway.
In the inner-city junior high school Ms. Holloway taught at, she would notice children with low self-esteem. There was a common theme among these children...terrible clothing and shoes.
Then, one day she was going through boxes of clothes her own children had outgrown and was going to give to Goodwill. She had a "eureaka" moment! Give gently used clothing to the students! Susan spread the word and even anonymous donations poured in.
So the kids would not feel ashamed, she would tell a student that they were selected for a private shopping appointment.
Ms. Holloway now says that this is her calling. Her clothing bank has now been opened to the entire school district of more than 9,000 kids.
Personally, I feel a person, no matter what the age, could benefit from some nice clothes and shoes. How about you?
