In Taste of Home Comfort Food Cookbook Diet, one may lose weight with alot of recipes that are slightly tweaked for the oh so good comfort food consumption without the oh so bad calories!
Included are do-it-yourself meal-planning worksheets, a free foods chart and a smart snack list. Walking 30 minutes a day is encouraged along with wearing a pedometer.
Starting out, on page 71 is a list of basic snacks. Following, are snack recipes of which I would just stick to the basic snack list for a no-fuss approach.
Then, there are breakfast recipes. Although you may beg to differ, I did not find any that seemed to be tasty.
For lunch, nothing met my picky tastebud requirements.
Page 158 begins dinner recipes. I found Italian chicken wraps to be an easy low-calorie way to satisfy hunger. The recipe uses vegetables, chicken breast strips, Italian salad dressing, parmesan cheese and flour tortillas. Pressed to get dinner on the table? I would buy frozen chicken breasts strips to keep in the freezer and simply microwave them until done.
The next section is side dishes. Page 249 has potatoes for a crowd. This recipe sounds soooo good but it makes 10 casseroles! I'm sure one could make 1 casserole and freeze the rest for later use. Who has 10 greased 11-in. X 7-in. baking dishes?
Following are desserts. I did not find any of them to be satisfactory.
